New Delhi: Protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens continues in the national capital. Ahead of protests against CAA, Section 144 was imposed at Mandi House to ban large gatherings. However, the protest march that was called by Swaraj Abhiyan chief Yogendra Yadav, began amid tight security. The cops are constantly trying to stop the protesters from demonstrating. An additional police force has also been deployed in the area.

Meanwhile, about 2-3 thousand people have gathered at Mandi House to protest against the contentious citizenship law, that seeks to grant citizenship to non-Muslim minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. This comes more than a week after a massive protest by Jamia students ended in violence - leading to police crackdown at the university. While they were denied permission by Delhi Police, a large number of students have gathered at the protest site amid tight security.
