Prayagraj: Big update on the Gyanvapi Mosque case, Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee filed an urgent application in the Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on the April 8th ASI study stating that allowing an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) study of the Mosque was passed illegally and without jurisdiction.
The petition states that the Allahabad High Court has already reserved a decision on the matter.

In the application filed by Anjuman Intezamia through senior advocates Farman Ahmad Naqvi and Syed Ahmad Faizan states that the lower court ignored the entire written submissions and applicability of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 and Order 7 Rule 11D of the Civil Procedure Code.
A Varanasi court on Thursday ordered an archaeological survey of the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Gyanvapi mosque premises to resolve a lingering dispute involving the two shrines. The order was given by a senior division civil court on a plea pending before it since 2019, petitioner counsel Vijay Shankar Rastogi said.
The fast track court of Varanasi has ordered the ASI to investigate the Kashi Visheshwarnath temple and the Gyanvapi mosque case, the court has ordered a five-member committee to conduct an archaeological investigation of the mosque complex.
Kashi Visheshwarnath temple side claims that the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb destroyed the temple in 1664 and after destroying the temple, the mosque is built on its remains. In order to know the reality, a demand has been made to conduct a survey of the entire campus in the court.
Reacting to the Varanasi court order, UP Sunni Central Waqf Board in Lucknow said it will challenge the subordinate court's order in the Allahabad High Court.
