Amaravati: Trouble seems to be mounting for former Andhara Pradesh Chief Minsiter Chandrababu Naidu as the state government on Saturday gave him a week's ultimatum to vacant his rented house which is located on the banks of Krishna River at Vundavalli in Amaravati. A legal notice was pasted on the compound of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief's compound by the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) earlier in the day. Authorities say that the notice was pasted on the compound as Naidu and his family members were not available to receive the same.
According to the order, during the inspection of the premises by the APCRDA staff, unauthorised constructions and developments were found in violation of various rules and regulations. The order identifies unauthorised RCC residential buildings on the ground and first floor, along with a swimming pool and ground floor dressing room etc measuring 1.318 acres. It says the unauthorised construction is within the Maximum Flood Level (MFL) of the Krishna river.
The earlier notice was issued immediately after the demolition of Praja Vedika, a government building adjacent to Naidu's residence. Naidu had been living in the house on lease since he shifted here from Hyderabad in 2016. He had later got Praja Vedika, a meeting hall, constructed adjacent to the house.
Incumbent Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in June ordered demolition of Praja Vedika. He had also alleged that Naidu himself is living in an illegal house. He had said the demolition drive would cover all illegal buildings on the banks of Krishna river at Undavalli.
The TDP, which lost power to Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in May, alleged that the government was acting with political vendetta. The opposition party slammed the government for issuing the notice even though the matter was pending in the High Court.
While speaking to reporters, TDP official spokesperson Panchumarthi Anuradha had siad that the latest notice was nothing but an overall conspiracy by the current state government to create trouble for Naidu and throw him out on the streets. Anuradha even accused the YSRC government of demolishing Praja Vedika in the past, a conference hall adjacent to Naidu’s house, only with political vendetta.
