N Ramamurthy Naidu, former TDP MLA and younger brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, passed away at a private super-speciality hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday. He was 72. Ramamurthy Naidu was admitted to the hospital on November 14 following a cardiac arrest. Despite intensive care and treatment, he succumbed to health complications at 12:45 PM.
The hospital bulletin revealed that Ramamurthy Naidu had been suffering from non-communicating normal pressure hydrocephalus (a buildup of fluid in the brain) and post VP shunt complications, as per a report on PTI.
"After his admission to hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, he was revived with cardio pulmonary resuscitation but was very unstable haemodynamically with low blood pressure and other complications. He could not improve in spite of all efforts and the end came at 12.45 PM today," the bulletin said on Saturday.
Ramamurthy Naidu represented the Chandragiri Assembly constituency from 1994 to 1999 as a TDP MLA. Known for his public service and dedication, his passing marks a significant loss to the community and his family.
Expressing his grief, CM Chandrababu Naidu stated, "It is with a heavy heart that I inform everyone that my younger brother, former MLA of Chandragiri Constituency Nara Ramamurthy Naidu, has left us. Ramamurthy Naidu was a leader in public life who served the people with a perfect heart. My brother's passing has brought great sadness to our family. May his soul rest in peace."
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy extended his condolences, praying for the departed soul and offering support to the grieving family.
Ramamurthy Naidu's son, Nara Rohit, is a prominent actor and producer in Telugu cinema, known for acclaimed films such as Baanam (2009), Prathinidhi (2014), and Jyo Achyutananda (2016).
