New Delhi: Mahindra Group Chairman and CEO, Anand Mahindra shared a video ahead Independence Day of several refugees living in India singing the national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana". Mahindra, who is known for his tweets shared the video which was originally shared by the United Nations of India on Sunday. 


As a tribute to the country where they made their homes, several refugee youths from various countries such as Afghanistan, Cameroon, Sri Lanka and Myanmar were singing alongside multi-Grammy award-winning Indian music composer, Ricky Kej. 


Mahindra shared the video with the "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" a Sanskrit term originally found in the Upnishads which means, "The World Is One". 






The original video tweeted by the United Nations of India, with the the words "We thank you for your kindness, love, and support". 






This August 15 is particularly significant as it marks the 75 years of India's independence, the celebration began much earlier under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav under which several exercises are taking place. On Friday, the government launched the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign celebrating the national flag where thousands rallied holding the national flag and people hoisted the national flag at their homes. 


The main event of August 15 is the Prime Minister's speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver his speech at 7:30 am from the Red Fort after he hoists the flag. The speech can be viewed live on Doordarshan and its network. All India Radio will broadcast the speech live on also host it on its YouTube channel.
