The man who had harboured Tajinder Singh Gill aka Baba Gorkha, a close associate of Amritpal Singh, has been arrested, said Khanna Police. The interrogation of the latest suspect, Balwant Singh, is underway, but no direct connection between Amritpal Singh and Balwant Singh has been found yet, say police.
A woman from Patiala was arrested for allegedly giving shelter to Amritpal Singh and his aides, said the Punjab Police officials on Sunday.
As per a senior police official, Amritpal and his aide Papalpreet Singh had allegedly stayed at the residence of Balbir Kaur in Patiala's Hargobind Nagar, for five to six hours before they moved to Shahabad in Haryana's Kurukshetra district, on March 19.
Pro-khalistanis earlier today gathered outside Indian Embassy in Washington DC and chanted pro-Khalistani slogans. They also threatened Indian ambassador to the United States Taranjit Sandhu and the embassy staff.
An alert has been sounded in Uttarakhand over the possibility of absconding pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh entering the State, informed Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) V Murugesan on Saturday morning. Murugesan added that he had received inputs from the Punjab Police that the Khalistan supporter who fled from Punjab, may enter Uttarakhand from Haryana.
Amritpal Singh, head of the pro-Khalistani outfit Waris Punjab De is suspected to have left for Delhi, said police sources.
The Punjab Police expressed doubts about Amritpal entering the Delhi border using any vehicle other than a bus. Following the input, Delhi Police went on alert mode and are trying to track Amritpal's movements.
An alert has also been issued in the Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udhamsinghnagar districts of the Uttarakhand as a precaution in view of the possibility of Amritpal Singh entering the state. U'khand Director General of Police Ashok Kumar has said. "An alert has been issued in Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udhamsinghnagar districts of the state as a precaution in view of the possibility of pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh entering the state," the DGP told ANI.
He said that the police are conducting intensive checks on the borders of all three districts and other areas. Significantly, all three districts of the State have been affected by terrorism in the 90s, he added.

Amritpal formed an Army named AKF, Punjab Police reveal details.

Security at the Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam, where Amritpal Singh's aides are lodged, has been ramped up, with multiple layers of various teams. Personnel from Black Panther, CRPF, Assam Police, and jail guards are keeping a round-the-clock vigil.
Supension of mobile internet services have been extended in Tarn Taran and Ferozepur districts of Punjab.
"All mobile internet services, all SMS services (except banking & mobile recharge) & all dongle services provided on mobile networks, except the voice call, shall continue to remain suspended in the districts Tarn Taran and Ferozepur, till March 24 (12:00 hours) in the interest of public safety," said the Punjab Government.
Seven associates of 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh brwere ought to Amritsar's Baba Bakala Court amid heavy police presence today.
They were earlier sent to police custody till March 23.
Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring came down heavily on the Bhagwant Mann government over the botched up police operation to nab radical preacher Amritpal Singh.
In a statement, he said people's trust and confidence in the state government was at its lowest ebb ever in history.
"It won't be any exaggeration that Bhagwant Mann is spearheading the most inept state government in the country which hurtles towards a new embarrassment every new day," Warring said, adding that the absence of governance in Punjab is a matter of concern for every Punjabi.
After changing two cars and a bike in his escape, new footage that has surfaced shows fugitive Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh on a motorised cart with the bike and the rider, reports PTI. Although it is not clear whether the bike ran out of fuel or developed some fault.
Meanwhile fresh FIR has been regsitered against the Waris Punjab De chief for extortion and rioting following a complaint by the 'granthi' of a gurdwara in Jalandhar where the pro-Khalistan preacher changed his clothes and fled on a bike to escape the police crackdown on his outfit.
Punjab Police reached the residence of ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief in Jallupur Khera village, Amritsar, reported ANI.
Punjab LoP and Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa said, "He (Amritpal Singh) could have been arrested from his village in Amritsar but the operation was done in Jalandhar area in view of the Jalandhar by-elections. All this happened under a strategy...We came here to demand his (CM Mann's) resignation."

The Uttarakhand Police conducted a combing operation in gurdwaras, hotels, and in areas on the Indo-Nepal Border in Udham Singh Nagar district on Tuesday in search of radical preacher Amritpal Singh and his associates, reports PTI.
Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill, while addressing a Press conference, said that a lookout circular (LOC) and non-bailable warrant (NBW) has been issued against Amritpal Singh, who remains a fugitive and efforts are being made to arrest him: Punjab government (ANI)
Amritpal Singh was seen escaping in an SUV in Jalandhar on March 18.
"A total of 154 people have been arrested so far and around 12 weapons have been seized," says Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh. Among the seized weapons were rifles and revolver.
"We have arrested four more people in this case - Manpreet, Gurdeep, Harpreet, and Gurpej. These four people had helped Amritpal Singh escape in a Brezza from the naka point. We recovered the vehicle, one rifle, and other equipment. The Arms Act has been invoked against them. In the preliminary investigation, it was found that they went to Gurudwara Sahib in Nangal Ambian where Amritpal changed his clothes and they escaped on two motorcycles. Further investigation is underway," the IGP said.

Four more aides of Amritpal Singh have been brough to Dibrugarh jail after his uncle Harjeet Singh was brought this morning.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lauded the AAP-led Punjab government for the crackdown on Khalistani supporters saying strict action has been taken against those disturbing peace.
"I want to congratulate Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann for maintaining the law and order situation in a patient & mature way. In the last 1 year, Punjab Govt has shown that if the intentions are right, then law and order can be maintained very well," he added.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said action has been taken against elements who were talking of spoiling the environment of Punjab.
"In last few days, some elements were talking to spoil the environment of Punjab with the help of foreign powers & were giving hateful speeches. Action has been taken against them and they have been arrested and strict punishment will be given to them," he said.
Sikh leader Jasdeep Singh said: "We condemn any violence that has happened outside the Indian Embassy in San Francisco or the desecration of Indian flag in London. Everybody has a right to protest but it should be peaceful & no violence or vandalism should happen."

Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI is instigating overseas Khalistan supporters to organise protests and demonstrations abroad including in London, San Francisco, and Canberra in support of Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh who is on the run, said officials, reported news agency PTI. They added that the Pakistan's intelligence agency was the brain behind the growth of the radical leader.
After the attack on Indian High Commission in London by pro-Khalistanis, United Kingdom MP Bob Blackman said "this is a ver small, ultra-small section of the Sikh community."
"The vast majority of Sikhs in this country absolutely reject the Khalistani project... It's not going to happen as we know...My message is very simple to the police, when this happens, those people need to be arrested and dealt with properly," he added.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh has said: "Punjab Police will extend all help to Jammu & Kashmir Police. Some cases have come to the fore where weapons were issued to people [Khalistani sympathisers] from here. We are now looking into the matter."
"Four detainees were sent to Dibrugarh, Assam after custody. They are Daljeet Kalsi, Basant Singh, Gurmeet Singh Bhukhanwala, and Bhagwant Singh. One more detainee, Harjeet Singh, who is Amritpal Singh's uncle, is en route Dibrugarh," says Punjab IGP.
Amritpal's father Tarsem Singh has reached the Baba Bakala court in Amritsar district.
"We have a very strong suspicion of an ISI angle, based on the facts and circumstances that have come to light so far. We also have a very strong suspicion of foreign funding. Going by the circumstances, it seems that ISI is involved and there is foreign funding as well," says IGP Punjab, Sukhchain Singh Gill. "The bulletproof jackets and rifles recovered and the gate (of the house) of the chief (Amritpal Singh) had AKF written on them. There was an attempt to form a Jathebandi called 'Anandpur Khalsa Fauj'," he says.
"So far, 114 people have been arrested for attempting to disturb peace and harmony. As many as 78 of them were arrested on the first day, 34 on Day 2, and two others were arrested last night. Ten weapons have been recovered so far," IGP Punjab, Sukhchain Singh Gill.

Punjab inspector general Sukhchain Singh Gill addresses the media. He warned against rumour mongering that strict action will be taken. He said the law and order situation was normal. "6 FIRs registered against his aides... Amritpal still absconding, he hasn't been arrested," he said.
Amritpal Singh's uncle Harjeet Singh taken to Assam via Delhi, ABP Sanjha reports. As per inputs, police detained him under the National Security Act following his surrender.
Talking to ABP Sanjha, Amritpal Singh's father said, "We suspect a Moosewala-like incident can happen with him." "Police have ill intentions, they are trying to defame him," he alleged.
His father said he was worried about Amritpal's safety as more time passes, he urged the Punjab govt and police to inform them about his whereabouts.

- Satinder Singh, the Superintendent Of Police, Rural Amritsar, said that seven persons were arrested on Saturday and a separate FIR under Arms Act was registered against Amritpal Singh and them. Amritpal is the main accused in the FIR. Six 12-bore weapons have been recovered from them and all weapons are illegal, he added.
- Four aides of absconding Sikh radical preacher Amritpal Singh were moved to Assam's Dibrugarh district on Sunday, news agency PTI reported.
- Vehicle used by chief Amritpal Singh to escape was also seized by police in Jalandhar. SSP Jalandhar Rural, Swarndeep Singh told ANI, "One car used in their (Amritpal Singh's) convoy seized, and one Kirpan and a .315 bore weapon with 57 live cartridges were recovered from it. The car was abandoned after use."

Amritpal Singh’s father Tarsem Singh on Sunday claimed that the 'Waris Punjab De' chief has already been arrested by the Punjab Police and that the police were "lying" that he was absconding. "We are sure that he has been arrested. We want the police to present him before the court to be able to take legal recourse," Amritpal's father alleged in an interview with ABP Sanjha.

On Saturday, Punjab Police launched a high-level operation to chase Amritpal Singh while he was reportedly on his way to Shri Muktsar Sahib. Six of his aides were arrested while Singh managed to flee. Police cordoned off Amritpal's cavalcade in Mehatpur in a bid to arrest him. However, Amritpal switched his vehicle at the spot where his cavalcade was intercepted and managed to dodge the police.
