New Delhi: While the possibility of third COVID wave continues to be a cause of worry, the fresh cases of Coronavirus have undergone a surge in the past few days.
The figures in the last five days show that the cases of COVID-19 in the country are seeing an upward trend once again. 46,164 new Coronavirus cases were reported on Thursday.

At the same time, 607 people died due to the disease. The number of people recovering from Coronavirus increased to 317,88,440. On the other hand, active cases in the country were reported to be 3,33,725.
Coronavirus cases have increased on a daily basis in the last five days
- August 26, 2021 – 46,164 new cases
- August 25, 2021 – 37,593 cases
- August 24, 2021 - 25,467 cases
- August 23, 2021 - 25,072 cases
- August 22, 2021-30,948 cases
Kerala has reported more than 31,000 cases in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Coronavirus cases are not declining in the state of Kerala. On Wednesday, COVID cases in Kerala once again crossed the 31,000-mark. 215 COVID-related deaths were reported in the state yesterday, while the total active cases were 1,70,312.
COVID Vaccination August 18 to August 22
While Coronavirus cases are on the rise in the country, vaccination is also taking place at a rapid pace to defeat the pandemic:
- August 18 – 56.36 lakh people vaccinated
- August 19 - 54.71 lakh people vaccinated
- August 20 – 36.36 lakh people vaccinated
- August 21 – 52.23 lakh people vaccinated
- August 22 – 7.95 lakh people vaccinated
