Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday expressed her angst against the heart wrenching attack on Amarnath Yatra pilgrims on Monday evening.
Mufti on Tuesday said she would ensure the attackers are nabbed and are severely punished. She further assured that any official who would be found involved in the heinous attack would not be spared and would be put to justice.
She said, “This is a shameful attack of highest order and don’t have words to condemn it”.
She further lashed out at the people who carried the attacks and called them betrayers of Islam. “The culprits have stained the reputation of Kashmir and of Muslims by committing such an act” she said.
Mufti on Tuesday also called a cabinet meeting of Jammu and Kashmir assembly to discuss further action and strategy of the government as an aftermath of the attack.
Taking a stock of situation, Mufti on Monday night visited the hospital in Anantnag to meet the attack victims and to support their families.
A bunch of terrorists attacked a public vehicle, which was on its way to Amarnath, claiming seven lives and injuring nineteen.
The incident the shook the government, who has ordered beefing up of security all over the country and issuing an alert.
