Top Telugu actor Allu Arjun appeared before the Chikkadpally police in Hyderabad on Tuesday for questioning related to the stampede in Sandhya threatre on December 4. The incident  that occurred during the screening of Pushpa 2 led to the death of a woman, Revathi, and left several others injured.


Allu Arjun, who was issued a notice to appear at 11 AM, arrived at the police station after security was heightened both at his residence and the police station. Traffic restrictions were imposed around the area to manage the crowd. The actor, who had previously expressed his willingness to cooperate with the investigation, waved to his fans before heading into the station.


Actor Allu Arjun was questioned in the presence of his lawyer. Allu Arjun answered all the questions asked by Investigating Officer (IO). During the questioning, Allu Arjun, accompanied by his lawyer, answered the police's queries. A prosecution lawyer was present as an observer.


He was asked about that whether he knew that the police permission was denied, why despite no permission he reached and held a road show.


When asked about whether he knew about the Revathi's death, Allu Arjun answered, "Yes... I knew about it the next day." 


When asked whether the ACP and DCP meet him at the auditorium, Allu Arjun said, "None of them met me. They spread falsehoods about me to the media."


Allu Arjun emphasised that the death was due to an unfortunate accident and he as an actor should not be held responsible for it.


Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy demanded an apology over Allu Arjun's response to the debate in the Legislative Assembly on Saturday. "This government is never vindictive. As Cinematography Minister, we allowed benefit shows and hiking ticket prices to promote the film industry," he said, as per a report on PTI.
