Mumbai: An alleged caller from the Dawood gang threatened to blow up Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's residence 'Matoshree'. ALSO READ | Calls For Apology Grow Over Sanjay Raut’s Derogatory Remarks Against Mumbai-Bound Kangana Ranaut


An anonymous caller made 3-4 threat calls to CM Thackeray's residence. The call was made from Dubai and the caller demanded to speak to the Chief Minister while threatening to blow up 'Matoshree'.


3-4 threatening calls were made from Dubai in the name of wanted gangster Dawood Ibrahim, and because of the same, the security at the Maharashtra Cheif Minister's residence has been beefed up. The reason behind these calls, if there is a particular cause or incident for these threats has not ascertained. Mumbai Police has begun its investigation into the matter.

"Security tightened at Maharashtra CM's residence Matoshree, as a precautionary measure after calls were received on the landline at Matoshree wherein caller said he was calling on behalf of Dawood Ibrahim & wanted to speak to CM. We're trying to locate the caller,": Mumbai Police informed.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra cabinet has discussed the matter and has found it to be a serious one for the central government to look into.

"The issue of threat to CM's residence was discussed in today's Cabinet meeting. Everyone was of the view that it's a serious issue & Centre should also look into it. Home Minister Anil Deshmukh told the State Cabinet that police have started the investigation,": Maharashtra CMO stated.
