New Delhi: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar was made the brand ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission in Uttar Pradesh by Yogi Adityanath on Friday.  Not only this, his latest film ‘Toilet:Ek Prem Katha'  was also made tax free in the state.

The Twitter handle of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared this image of the occasion.


In another video posted by Chief Minister Yogi, he can be seen pronouncing Akshay Kumar as the brand ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission in the state.

Akshay said: “It is a privilege to be given such a post of responsibility. I thank you sincerely”

The announcement was made at the end of a cleanliness programme organised in Lucknow.

Akshay and Bhumi Pednekar were in Lucknow for a cleanliness drive ‘Swachata Ka Shankhnad’.

In a series of posts by the CM, he can be seen with Akshay and Bhumi, wielding brooms in a school and attending cleanliness programme.
He started the cleanliness drive by taking a pledge along with actor Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar for promoting the Prime Minister's mission of 'Swachh Bharat'.
