New Delhi: Former Samajwadi Party (SP) MP and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav has tested positive for Coronavirus. The information was shared by Dimple on Twitter who said that she has tested positive for the virus and is fully vaccinated.
Dimple Yadav's daughter Tina Yadav has also tested positive for Covid-19. Both mother and daughter have isolated themselves at home where they are being given necessary treatment.
The staff members in the Yadav family are also being tested.
"I got a Covid test done, whose report is positive. I am fully vaccinated and not showing any symptoms. For the safety of myself and others, I have isolated myself," she tweeted in Hindi.
She also said that all the people who met her recently should get their Covid-19 test done soon.
There has been no information on Akhilesh Yadav's report. The SP chief is reportedly not vaccinated as he had said that he would get the jab after his father Mulayam Singh Yadav gets inoculated.
Dimple Yadav's husband and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is currently on a two-day campaign yatra from Mainpuri to Etah. Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh are due early next year.
Deputy chief medical officer (CMO), Milind Vardhan, has confirmed that Dimple Yadav and her daughter are Corona positive, news agency IANS reported.
Vardhan said that Tina got herself tested after she developed fever and when her report came positive, Dimple Yadav's sample was also taken on the basis of contact tracing.
