Veteran politician and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh dies after being diagnosed with Covid-19. Singh had contracted Covid 19 on April 20th and was undergoing treatment at a Gurgaon hospital after he tested positive. His condition worsened on Wednesday night and the leader breathed his last on Thursday morning at 8:20 am.


 Ajit Singh, a prominent leader in western Uttar Pradesh, was the son of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.

Chaudhary Ajit Singh was a seven-time MP from Baghpat and also served as the Union Minister of Civil Aviation.


Ajit Singh's son Jayant Chaudhary took to Twitter and shared the sad news of Ajit Singh's demise.



Prime Minister Narendra Modi also offered condolences and appreciate the late leader for his wonderful work.


PM Modi tweeted in Hindi, "The death of former Union Minister Chaudhary Ajit Singh ji is extremely sad. He was always devoted to the interests of the farmers. He efficiently discharged the responsibilities of several departments at the center. My condolences to his family and fans in this hour of mourning. om Shanti!"



Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and offered condolences.




RLD has informed that the last rites of Ajit Singh will be done following all the Covid protocols and has appealed to everyone not to gather at Ajit Singh's Delhi residence keeping in view of the Covid situation and pay condolences to the late leader by staying at home and remaining safe.
