Yogendra Yadav, a political analyst, spoke about his “sad experience” while travelling with Air India on Monday. 


The Swaraj Abhiyan founder detailed his experience on X and some of the major issues he faced with the airlines. He said that he and his wife were to be on flight AI 213 but were notified four days ahead that the flight would be delayed by 4 hours. 






He said that their seat classes were downgraded without any prior communication or any offer to refund. When the couple tried web check-in, they kept giving them an alert their flight was ineligible for web check-in. When they were checking in at the airport they were sent to three different counters “for no fault of ours”, he added.


He added that a "very rude" customer service executive made them run around and refused to allot seats before a counter supervisor stepped in. When they asked for a complaint book they said they didn’t have one, “which they found when I insisted) and could not give an email ID for complaints”.


He said he wasn’t mentioning “minor issues like discrepancy between Gate announced and actual gate of boarding, poor management of lines, faulty announcements etc.”


"I should mention that floor supervisor did offer a polite apology. All in all a very sad experience," Mr Yadav said.


After Yadav’s post, Air India swiftly replied, "Dear Mr. Yadav, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We're addressing this on priority and will get back to you at the earliest."






Vistara Airlines which is a joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines will fully merge with Tata Group owned, Air India.
