Air India on Friday suspended its flights to and from Israel's Tel Aviv with immediate effect till August 8 amid rising tensions in the Middle East. In a statement, the airline announced that the scheduled operation of its flights to and from Tel Aviv has been suspended due to the ongoing situation and the rising tension in the Middle East.

The cancellation comes against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the terror group Hamas.

Air India has also said that it is continuously monitoring the situation and is extending support to our passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv.

"In view of the ongoing situation in parts of the Middle East, we have suspended scheduled operation of our flights to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect up to and including 08 August 2024. We are continuously monitoring the situation and are extending support to our passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv during this period, with a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges. Safety of our guests and crew remains our foremost priority," Air India said in the statement.

This comes a day after Air India cancelled its flight from Tel Aviv, citing operational reasons. The airline operates four flights from Delhi to Tel Aviv every week.
