Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has launched a campaign called ‘CM di Yogshala’ in his state to promote healthy living and prosperity. The campaign aims to create a mass movement towards a healthier and more prosperous Punjab by introducing Yogshalas in the cities of Amritsar, Phagwara, Patiala, and Ludhiana. In these Yogshalas, certified yoga instructors will provide free training to people in public places such as parks.

In a video message, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of yoga for physical and mental health, and he himself practices yoga every morning. He believes that yoga can act as a stress reliever and help people maintain mental and physical equilibrium by making certain changes in their lifestyles. The ‘CM di Yogshala’ campaign aims to create awareness about good health and hygiene by practising yoga.

Bhagwant Mann highlighted the rising stress levels amongst people as a major cause of concern and believes that yoga can play a vital role in reducing stress and ensuring good health. Mann said he was hopeful that these Yogshalas will act as a catalyst for carving out a "healthy and progressive Punjab" and will ensure a quality life for every Punjabi.

The Chief Minister plans to introduce these Yogshalas in the four cities as a pilot project, and if successful, the campaign will be extended to other areas. The Yogshalas will be open to people of all ages and backgrounds, and the goal is to create a mass movement towards healthier living, making yoga an integral part of people's daily lives.

Last month, Union Minister Sarbanand Sonowal inaugurated an event to launch the 100-day countdown to International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on June 21. Sonowal said that the wholehearted acceptance of yoga across the world had made India a leader in the global health and wellness sector. As many as 100 organisations in 100 cities participated in the event.
