MUMBAI: A day after dozens of passengers complained of ear pain and nose bleeding due to the loss in cabin pressure, a complaint has been registered against Jet Airways staff and crew members of the Mumbai-Jaipur flight No 9W 0697 for dereliction of duties amounting to attempt of murder of travellers on board.

Earlier on Thursday morning, Jet Airways flight 9W-697 landed back in Mumbai within 30 minutes of taking off from the airport's Terminal 2 after 30 of the 166 passengers on board started bleeding and complained of headaches.

In the case, Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu had ordered to conduct an enquiry into the incident. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) was also conducting an enquiry into the incident.

Videos of the incident taken by passengers quickly went viral on the social media. Following the air-turn back of the flight, 144 of the 166 passengers of the original flight travelled to Jaipur via an alternative flight of the airline, while 17 of them wished to travel at another point in time.

The airlines had also issued a statement expressing 'regret' over the inconvenience caused to the passengers. It also clarified that the Boeing 737 aircraft had indeed returned to Mumbai due to "loss of cabin pressure" and the pilots have been taken off duty pending investigation.
