New Delhi: In a stern reaction against Kerala government’s decision to move Supreme Court over the Citizenship Amendment Act, Governor of the state Arif Mohammed Khan has sought a report from the CPI(M) led Left Democratic Front government for moving the Supreme Court without informing him.

The office of Raj Bhavan sought the report from the state Chief Secretary of the state.

The Governor has been at loggerheads with the government ever since the state assembly passed a resolution last month, seeking to scrap the new law.

Khan had also publicly expressed his displeasure over the government not informing him moving the Supreme Court against the CAA.

On January 14, the Kerala government led by Pinarayi Vijayan, moved the Supreme Court against the Citizenship Amendment Act saying that the law is against the provision of Right to Equality of the Constitution of India as well as against the basic principle of secularism.

Kerala government became the first state government to move the Supreme Court against the Act, which has been opposed by several state. It was also the first state assembly to move a resolution against CAA.
