Police in Jaipur, Rajasthan, reported that at least four schools received bomb threats via email on Monday. Authorities have evacuated students and staff members from the affected schools, news agency PTI reported. Additionally, police teams, along with bomb squads and dog squads, have been deployed to the schools to investigate the threats.
“Four-five schools have received bomb threat. Police have reached the schools,” Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph was quoted as saying by PTI in its report.
Police stated that the threat was sent via email and confirmed that a team is currently working to identify the sender of the threatening emails.
DCP East Jaipur Kavendra Sagar said: “Threatening emails have been sent to some schools of the city including Maheshwari School (MPS International School). Currently, the bomb disposal squad is carrying out searches in the school.”
Earlier this month, around 130 schools in the Delhi-NCR region received bomb threat emails, prompting the swift evacuation of students from the premises. Police authorities revealed that the emails, directed at schools in Delhi-NCR, originated from a server located in Russia.
The Delhi Police's anti-terror unit special cell traced the domain of the emails back to Russia. It is suspected that the emails were created using the dark web, a part of the encrypted internet that enables users to conceal their identity and location from others.
