New Delhi: Various political parties are constantly urging the Centre to back the three farm laws and have said that they side with the ongoing farmers' protest. While many make claims, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Daljit Singh Cheema says no other party has done as much for the farmers like them.
At ABP Shikhar Sammelan, Daljit Singh Cheema said Akali Dal always stood by farmers. "Everyone has the right to have their own opinion. But how many parties in India could do what we did? Do you know who voted against them (farm laws) first and who started the opposition against these new laws in the Parliament? We were NDA's allies for 25 years, but we are now out of the alliance," he said.
Farmers Being Provoke:
Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said that they are patiently waiting for their demands to be fulfilled.
At the ABP Shikhar Sammelan, Balbir Singh Rajewal said "the only good thing about the farmers' movement is that it is peaceful, and it would stay that way. The Lakhimpur incident revealed the mindset of the people in power."
Balbir Singh Rajewal said that four farmers were martyred while ten others were injured during the Lakhimpur incident.
"This happened right after Haryana CM's video went viral, where he was seen persuading people to respond to farmers with violence," he added.
