ABP India Corona Conclave 2: Amul's MD, RS Sodhi talks about the importance of communication especially during the time of crisis. Amul during the pandemic upped its communication through social media in an attempt to remind its customers that milk is an essential ingredient and will be available everyday. 


He talks about how the local administration, i.e. the police and CM office of the states where Amul plants are have been very helpful during the pandemic especially if there were issues with thier supply and distribution chains. 


'Amul supplies an essential commodity milk at affordable prices which give nutrition to people, aside from that milk gives over 10 crore families a livelihood'. Sodhi said that all Amul had to do was to take care of the supply chain, which was easy with as employees, local administrations suppliers and distributors all came together to make sure everything ran smoothly. 


Amul saw a growth in sales during the pandemic, is some of the rarest instances. Sodhi also revealed that Amul spend less than 1% of its profits in advertising.
