ABP News Survey: People gave a positive response to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Narendra Modi was pitched as the Prime Ministerial candidate once again by the BJP and its alliance and people did vote him in for the second term.
With Modi at the helm, BJP on its own was able to win 303 out of the 542 Lok Sabha seats. While the alliance, NDA, was able to secure 353 seats. In comparison, Congress was just able to win 52 seats, and the entire Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) secured just 91 seats.
Given the contrast of the margin, it could have been easily opined at that time that the mood of the nation favoured Narendra Modi-led BJP heavily as pitched against Rahul Gandhi-led Congress and its alliance.
Over the past one year or 2020 to be precise, India has been reeling under the havoc of Coronavirus. Multiple lockdowns, safety protocols and various other measures were and are being taken by the central government in order to keep the population safe from the pandemic. The vaccination drive is on the cards as government approved two vaccines for COVID-19 recently.
Not only the pandemic, but the central government has also faced multiple protests in the short period since it was elected. Nationwide protests occurred in the December of 2019 for CAA and NRC, while in December of 2020 farmers came out to protest the newly approved Agriculture laws.
To gauge the mood of the nation, ABP News in collaboration with CVoter conducted a national survey to understand that who will win the Lok Sabha Elections if it is to be conducted today.
According to the survey, BJP-led NDA will be able to secure 58.4% of the votes if Lok Sabha Elections are to be held today. It is still grim for the Congress-led UPA as they are only able to get 28.1% of the entire vote share while the third-front (or remaining parties) will have 13.5% of the vote share.
It is to be noted, BJP had got 37.36% of votes in 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, while NDA was able to garner 45% of the total vote share. As per the ABP News survey, there is an uptick in the vote percentage for Modi-led BJP and its alliance.
