New Delhi: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) supremo and the first Chief Minister of Jharkhand Babulal Marandi, on Tuesday, trained guns at the Bharatiya Janata Party and alleged it of attempting to break other parties by indulging in horse-trading of MLAs.
Speaking with ABP News in its flagship summit Shikhar Sammelan held ahead of the crucial assembly polls, Marandi said that on the basis of money and power, BJP lures MLAs from opposition parties, while the JVM focuses on issue-based politics.
He said that BJP is using the formula of polarization to win votes.
The state is slated to go for the legislative Assembly polls towards the end of the year. Jharkand has 82 Assembly seats of which one is nominated.
Taking on the Raghubar Das government, Marandi said that the CM has failed to address the basic problems of tribal people.
Denying that his party JVM has moved away from political mainstage of Jharkhand, Marandi said that the JVM is not cornered but is present among the people.
Fueling further the ongoing speculations of a pre-poll alliance with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Marandi , Marandi said that his party is not opposed to alliances.
Speculations are rife that JMM and JVM may come together ahead of the assembly polls to take on the saffron party riding on the Modi wave.
Questioning the government over NRC exercise, he said: “ Can the govt respond how many Bangladeshis have they sent back in last 5 years? Why doesn't Modiji take up the illegal immigrant issue during his visits to Bangladesh?”
The political parties in Jharkhand have intensified their campaigns, bracing up for the assembly elections scheduled next month.
