New Delhi: With the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections due early next year, there are many issues that would play in the minds of the voters before they cast their vote.
While unemployment, farmers' protests, and women's safety etc are going to be some of the main poll issues, the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is definitely a matter that will be discussed the most.
Construction of the Ram Mandir temple began in Ayodhya after Supreme Court gave a verdict in favour of it in 2019.
On the 29th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, ABP News and CVoter conducted a snap poll and surveyed 2,064 people to understand the mood of the people on this.
ABP News and CVoter spoke to the people of Uttar Pradesh and asked them questions regarding the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and how much impact will it have during the UP assembly election 2022.
ABP News and CVoter spoke with supporters of BJP, Congress, Samajwadi Party, and Bahujan Samaj Party, and recorded their responses separately.
Q1: Will the construction of the Ram Mandir benefit BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh?
A total of 58.6% of people felt that the construction of the Ram Temple will benefit the ruling BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections, while 41.4% people feel that it will not benefit the BJP.
Separate data shows 79.2% BJP supporters, 51.9% Congress supporters, 31.3% SP supporters, and 35.7% BSP supporters felt that the Ram Mandir construction will benefit the BJP.

Q: If BJP wins the election, then how much credit would you give to Ram Mandir in its victory?
As much as 50.6% of the total respondents said that if BJP wins the election, they would credit the victory to the construction of Ram Mandir. While 28% of the respondents said that they will not credit BJP's victory to the construction of Ram Temple, 21.4% did not know if they would credit it to Ram Mandir construction or not.
As much as 59.3% of BJP supporters, 43.2% of Congress supporters, 34.2% of SP supporters while 46.7% of BSP supporters said they would credit BJP's win to the construction of Ram Temple.

From what it looks like, the survey threw up a polarised response as far as BJP and SP supporters were concerned. It was significant that Congress supporters did not defer from the BJP's response by a lot.
