ABP - Cvoter 2022 Election Survey: ABP News along with C-Voter conducted a survey to gauge the mood of voters in five states that are slated to undergo Assembly Elections next year. States such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur will go for polls in 2022.


As per C Voter ABP News survey findings for 2021 Assembly elections, the contest seems to be challenging for both - the incumbent government and the Opposition. 


While mainstream parties such as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and others have already pepped up their poll campaigning, several regional parties are also seen as game-changers in the upcoming polls.


The survey brings forth people's take on who is the most preferred Chief Ministerial candidate in all 5 poll-bound states. Let's have a look:


Uttar Pradesh


Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and UP CM Yogi Adityanath still remains to be the most preferred Chief Minister candidate in the Hindi-heartland state with 40 per cent of the respondents voting in his favour. 


Adityanath is followed by former UP CM and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav with 27 per cent votes. Bahujan Samaj (BSP) supremo Mayawati's popularity seems to be dipping down with only 15 per cent voters in Uttar Pradesh considers as the next CM. 


Meanwhile, Congress appears to be on the losing front in UP with Priyanka Gandhi (general secretary of the All India Congress Committee in charge of Uttar Pradesh) managing to gain confidence of mere 3 per cent of the respondents. 


Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Jayant Chaudhary stands next in line with 2 per cent voters seeing him as next CM of Uttar Pradesh.


Punjab


Punjab elections might come as a massive cheer for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as Arvind Kejriwal stands to be the most preferred Chief Minister candidate with 22 per cent votes, the survey finds. 


19 per cent of the respondents feel Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal is the most preferred CM candidate for upcoming polls.


In yet another jolt for the Congress, incumbent Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh Badal stands third in the line with 18 per cent respondents voting in his favour. 


Meanwhile, other popular faces such as AAP MP Bhagwant Mann and Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu managed to bag 16 per cent and 15 per cent votes, respectively.


Goa


BJP leader and Goa CM Pramod Sawant continues to be the most preferred CM candidate for upcoming polls with 33 per cent respondents voting in his favour. 


AAP candidate stands next in line with 14 per cent respondents choosing a candidate from Kejriwal's party. Even BJP's Vishwajit Rane is said to be in the race with another 14 per cent respondents want him to be the next CM of Goa. 


Uttarakhand


The state of Uttarakhand might bring some cheer for the Congress party with 31 per cent voters choosing Harish Rawat as the most preferred Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming polls.


Recently appointed Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami stands second in the race with 23 per cent voting in his favour. AAP's Col. Ajay Kothiyal is voted as the best CM by 10 per cent people.
