New Delhi: After registering a clean sweep in Punjab elections 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party is looking forward to expanding its base across the country. The party which has been calling itself the 'replacement of Congress' is focusing on nine new states. 


AAP announced through a Facebook post, "We are all set to increase our footprint throughout India!."

AAP has shuffled some positions keeping in view of the states which will be witnessing elections at the end of 2022. The IIT Delhi professor Sandeep Pathak has been again assigned a major responsibility as the AAP in charge of poll-bound Gujarat. 


Pathak also replaces Raghav Chadha as the co-in-charge of Punjab. Earlier today, he was nominated by the party for the Rajya Sabha seat in Punjab.


Arvind Kejriwal has retained Jarnail Singh, Delhi Tilak Nagar MLA as Punjab in charge.


In Gujarat, where elections are scheduled to be held at the end of this year, AAP's MLA from Delhi's Matiala constituency Gulab Singh has been appointed election in charge with Pathak named state in charge of the party.


In Himachal Pradesh, the Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain will remain as the poll in charge; senior AAP leader Durgesh Pathak has been named as 'prabhari' with three co-in-charges, including Amritsar mayor Karamjit Rintu and Delhi MCD councillor Gurjit Bath's husband Kulwant Bath.
