'AAP Is 'B' Team Of BJP. It Is Their Goal To Defeat Congress', Says Bhupesh Baghel

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel on Monday called the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) "B" team of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and said it is the motive of the the AAP to help BJP in defeating the Congress party, whether in Gujarat, Goa or Uttarakhand.

"They (AAP) are 'B' team of BJP. They go to Gujarat, Goa, Uttarakhand to defeat Congress. Whatever they say but that is their goal. AAP is not Aam Aadmi Party but 'Khas Aadmi Party'," said Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, as reported by News agency ANI.

He also flayed Aam Aadmi Party's Gujarat chief Gopal Italia for making casteist remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Gopal Italia (AAP Gujarat chief) made casteist remarks which Gujarat & the country will not tolerate. He commented about PM's mother. She is 100 years old &has nothing to do with politics. Congress condemns it. It will be BJP vs Congress in Gujarat, said Baghel, as reported by ANI.

Elections in Gujarat is scheduled to be held by the end of this year as the tenure of the state assembly ends on February 18, 2023.

Earlier on Friday, Baghel during an election rally in the poll-bound Himachal Pradesh appealed to the people of the state to make the Congress victorious.

While speaking at the rally in Solan, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister hit out at the Centre over inflation and alleged that the government is pulling money out of the common man's pockets.

"The BJP govt works to pull out money from your pockets, by increasing the prices of petrol, and diesel. Now they've imposed GST as well, 5 per cent on 'Rotis' and 18 per cent on 'Paranthas'... Make Congress win in Himachal by a 3/4th majority," Baghel was quoted by ANI a saying.

He urged the people of Himachal Pradesh to vote for Congress, citing the promises fulfilled by his government in the state.

"Congress has given you 10 guarantees. I'll tell you how we'll come through. I've come from Chhattisgarh where Rahul Gandhi promised to waive off farmers' loans in 10 days. Upon govt formation, we did it not within 10 days or 10 hours, but within 2 hours," he added.
