Uttar Pradesh: In a tragic incident, eight coaches of Rajya Rani Express which was going to Lucknow from Meerut derailed on Saturday morning in Rampur, near a bridge over the Koshi river.

At least ten people have reportedly injured in the accident, but no casualties have been reported so far. According to a senior railway official, the incident occurred around 8.15 a.m.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu ordered an inquiry into the incident, and has ensured that he is personally monitoring the incident.  He also added that he would ensure speedy relief and rescue operations.



The minister also asserted that a strict action would taken against anyone responsible for any lapse.


 



Even Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the injured and announced a compensation worth Rs. 50,000 each for the severely injured and Rs. 25,000 each for the injured. The Chief Minister has also instructed state cabinet minister Baldev Aulakh to extend all possible help to the injured.

After the incident, people were seen in panic, who managed to get out of the train. The reason behind the accident is yet to be found.

Special arrangements are set to be made to ensure the people reach their destination as soon as possible.

All the injured people have been taken to the nearest hospital. Also, a probe has been launched to find the actual reason behind the accident. More details are awaited.
