50 farmers organisations to meet in Delhi over intensifying protest

NEW DELHI: Farmers organisations are now gearing up to formulate a common strategy for the ongoing Kisan movement in different parts of the country.  In this series, representatives of 50 farmers organisations are going to hold a major meeting in Delhi today. The organisations will come together at Gandhi Shanti Pratishthan, Delhi at 10 am today. In the meeting, plans will be made for further accelerating the movement. This might escalate problems of Modi government. Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka and Telangana are already burning with protests which has taken a violent form. In Gujarat, the Congress has threatened that if demands of farmers here are not met soon, they too will begin a statewide agitation. Congress is having an aggressive approach regarding farmers' issue ahead of state polls. In Maharashtra, today is the last day of two-days ultimatum given by farmers to Fadnavis government. They have warned to resume protest from June 12 if government doesn't comply with their demands. Meanwhile, CM Devendra Fadnavis has formed a six-member cabinet group which will hold talks with farmers and then submit its report. Today, Aam Aadmi Party will launch nationwide protests supporting demands of farmers. On Friday, AAP leaders tried to visit Mandsaur to meet agitating farmers but were thwarted by police. In UP, the Yogi Government has already began preparations to talk to farmers. Raging situation in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh has made central government alert. The BJP has to bear the brunt if the agitation intensifies. Watch the video here
