As the city of Ayodhya prepares for the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla's idol at the Ram Temple on January 22, all eyes from across the nation are set on the grand preparations for the event.


The Uttar Pradesh police in its effort to beef up the security for the event that will be attended by many dignitaries including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken many important measures. Here's a brief overview of these measures:


1) 10,000 CCTVs and AI technology


10,000 CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire Ayodhya district to ensure security for the Ram temple event. Some of those cameras have in-built Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. "To ensure better security arrangements at the programme venue in Ayodhya, technology is being used on a large scale. For this, 10,000 CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire Ayodhya District. In some of these CCTV cameras, we are using AI-based technology so that we can maintain a strict vigil on the commuters, the Director General for Law and Order, Prashant Kumar told PTI.


2) Heavy deployement of Police personals


According to officials, Policemen from different linguistic backgrounds will be deployed in plain clothes across the venue and they have been given special training in proper soft skills, the PTI reported.


3) Coloured zones to manage traffic


To ensure robust security for the 'Pran Pratishtha' Ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Uttar Pradesh Police has made elaborate security arrangements and along with it, security has been ensured for every road along the entire Red Zone, Yellow Zone and Ayodhya District.


The DGP Kumar, told the PTI that "We have converted all the major roads coming towards Ayodhya into Green Corridors so that the traffic is not disrupted."


"Heavy traffic has been diverted around Ayodhya since January 18 and a traffic advisory has also been issued in this regard," Kumar added.


He further explained that the security of Saryu River, which flows in Ayodhya, has also been increased through use of power boats, NDRF and SDRF teams, and with local boatmen. 


4) Drones and increased checking


The UP police is coordinating with other agencies to ensure security. Checking is also beefed up at the International and Inter-State Border. According to the PTI report, the police will be using Drones for managing crowd. Anti-Drone technology will also be employed to ensure that security arrangements remain intact.
