India will seek enhanced security and raise the threat issued by Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun's against Air India flights operating to and from Canada after November 19 with authorities in Ottawa, the Hindustan Times reported.
Speaking to the Hindustan Times on the issue, India’s High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma said, “We shall take up the threat against Air India flights originating from and terminating in Canada, with the concerned Canadian authorities.”
The development took place after Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) founder and designated terrorist Pannun released a video message asking Sikhs to not fly Air india after November 19 claiming that could put their their lives in danger.
"Sikh people, don't travel by Air India after November 19. Your life can be in danger," Pannun said in the video as reported by news agency ANI.
This comes amid an ongoing diplomatic row between Canada and New Delhi over the killing of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudueau's comments alleging a link of the Indian government to the killing. Even as India dismissed the allegations, the ties between the two countries were strained with expulsion of diplomats and visa restrictions by both contries.
In a fresh development in the case, India’s High Commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma has said a high-level Canadian official damaged the probe into Nijjar's Killing. "I would go a step further and say now the investigation has already been tainted," he said even as he did not take any name, adding that the directing to link India to the case came from someone at a high level. "A direction has come from someone at a high level to say India or Indian agents are behind it," he said.
Verma added that so far Ottawa or its allies have not been able to provide concrete evidence which could establish the link or involvement of Indian agents in Nijjar's killing.
