New Delhi: India continues to observe a declining trend in the daily number of fresh Covid-19 cases and fatalities related to the deadly disease. As per Union Health Ministry, India recorded 92,596 new COVID-19 cases, 1,62,664 discharges, and 2219 deaths in the last 24 hours. 


With this, the number of total cases recorded till date is 2,90,89,069 while the death toll stahds at 3,53,528.

As per the latest data provided by the Centre, there are at least 12,31,415 active cases of Coronavirus present in the country. As many as 2,75,04,126 Covid patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospitals.

As on 9th June, 2021, 8:00 AM, a total of 23,90,58,360 vaccine doses have been administered. In the last 24 hours, 27,76,096 doses of covid vaccines were administered.  


The Indian Council of Medical Research in its daily bulletin reported that as many as 37,01,93,563 samples for Covid-19 were tested up to 8th June 2021 of which 19,85,967 samples were tested on Tuesday, June 9.  


In an effort to boost inoculation drive in the country, the Union government on Tuesday said that it has placed orders for 44 crore doses of Covishield and Covaxin jabs. According to the Union Health Ministry, 44 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines will be delivered by their makers between August and December 2021.
