Despite numerous efforts to curb the spread of deadly Coronavirus, India continues to report record high average daily cases of COVID-19. For the 6th straight day, India recorded highest average daily Covid cases globally. As per the latest data issued by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 3,23,144 new COVID19 cases and 2771 deaths. 


In the past 24 hours, the total caseload has been pushed to 1,76,36,307 while 1,45,56,209 have been recovered till date. 2,51,827 Covid patients were discharged on Monday, as per Union Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research informed that so far, 28,09,79,877 samples have been tested up to 26th April 2021, for COVID19. Of these 16,58,700 samples were tested in last 24 hours. 


In order to control the Covid crisis in the country, both the Central and state governments have ramped up efforts. Arrangements have been made to speed up the vaccination process. Citizens above 18 years of age will be eligible to take vaccine shot from May 1.
