Despite it being just a Corporation election,  several BJP heavyweights have been visiting the state for the upcoming polls. On Friday BJP president J P Nadda during his campaign in Hyderabad said that 'it is time for KCR (Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao) and the TRS regime to go.'

A report by PTI says that Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had recently released a "charge sheet" against the TRS government, while his ministerial colleague Smriti Irani had slammed the ruling TRS over the recent floods, asking how 75,000 'encroachments' thrived in the state capital.

The BJP recently won the assembly byelection to Dubbak constituency in Telangana. The party is also doing large scale campaigning for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections and has fielded several senior leaders and union ministers in the campaign. The area has so far been a bastion of Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao promised free supply of 20000 liters of drinking water to each and every household from December under GHMC. He also said that after the schemes will be implemented in the corporate limits, and upon seeing the results, benefits will be extended to other municipalities and gram panchayats in the state.
