The Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, which falls on the high occupancy route, is the third semi-high speed train to operate in Karnataka. Karnataka already has Vande Bharat Express trains operating between Mysore and Chennai and Bengaluru and Hubballi-Dharwad.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the train from Kacheguda on Sunday. The train will run from Kacheguda JN in Hyderabad to Yesvantpur JN in Bengaluru and vice versa for six days a week barring Wednesday.
The Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express will enhance connectivity between the two prominent tech cities in Karnataka and Telangana. This is the third semi-high speed train for Telangana after Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express.

The train will cover the distance of 610 km between Hyderabad and Bengaluru in eight hours and 30 minutes -- about three hours less than the existing fastest train on the section.
The fare between Kacheguda and Yesvantpur will cost Rs 1,600 for the AC Chair Car and Rs 2,915 for the Executive Class tickets. The train will depart from Kacheguda in Hyderabad at 5:30 AM and reach Yesvantpur JN in Bengaluru at 02:00 PM.
The train (20703) will stop at Mahbubnagar, Kurnool City, Anantapur and Dharmavaram along the way.

On the return leg of the journey, the Yesvantpur-Kacheguda Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20704) will start from Yesvantpur at 2:45 PM and conclude at Kacheguda at 11:15 PM on the same day. This train will also make stops at strategic stations Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Kurnool City and Mahbubnagar.
