The gas guzzling SUV, which was considered as the symbol of masculinity on the road, now will be setting up new records for zero emission.
The new Hummer EV will come with three electric motors that are capable of producing 1,000 horsepower. The 24-module, double-stacked Ultium battery is claimed to provide the new Hummer a range of at least 563 kms. The battery also supports 800-volt fast charging up to 350 kW. According to GMC, it can add an extra 160 kms of range in just 10 minutes charge. It can do a sprint of zero to 60 Kmph in about 3 seconds.
While Hummer is an old name, the EV will be an all-new model. The Hummer EV will go on sale in fall, 2021, and at first only the most expensive Edition 1 model will be available; less expensive models will be launched by the start of 2022.
The new Hummer EV will be available in a price range from Rs 58 Lakh to 82 Lakh in the US. The new Hummer EV has changed a lot from its predecessors. It now comes with a lot bolder and futuristic in appeal.
The several H motives around the vehicle that catch immediate attention. The wheel arches are now bigger in size to accommodate an astounding 35-inch tires, which can be further upgraded to 37-inch wheels aftermarket.
Besides the regular off-road capabilities, the Hummer is enabled with Crab Mode diagonal driving and 18 camera views including angles under the truck for getting over rocks. It also gets Super Cruise, a feature that helps automatic lane-changing.
The production for the new Hummer EV is expected to begin late next year. The Hummer brand was discontinued in 2009 due to brand’s poor performance.
