As a part of its global campaign, Honda is recalling a total of 5,088 cars in India in order to replace faulty driver and passenger airbag inflators manufactured by Takata. All the cars affected were manufactured between 2003 and 2013 and include previous-gen models like the Jazz, City, Civic, CR-V and the Accord.

Honda Cars India Limited will carry out the replacement of the faulty part at all its service centres across the country starting from 29 July 2019. While the carmaker will inform the affected customers about the campaign, owners can also check the status of their cars by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the company’s website.

Out of all the five cars recalled, the City and CR-V account for 4,676 units. Other three cars make up the remaining numbers. Here is a detailed list of cars with the number of affected units.

Honda is not the only carmaker to issue a recall in July 2019. Volvo made a global recall over potential fire risks, while Ford recalled the Freestyle, Aspire, Figo and the Endeavour over battery and airbag-related issues.
