Features include an all-LED headlight, full digital instrument console and golden rims
The Dio has been one of the most successful products in Honda’s scooter lineup. And now, Honda has launched the ‘Deluxe’ version, which includes new features and cosmetic upgrades, for a premium of Rs. 2,996 over the base model. The Dio Deluxe is priced at Rs 53,292 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Deluxe version receives an LED headlamp and a full digital instrument console with a convenient service due indicator. Additional features include a four-in-one ignition key slot with a seat-opening button. There's also front and underseat retractable hooks, Honda’s CBS brakes and an optional charging socket.
The Japanese manufacturer offers the Dio Deluxe in four colours: Metallic Yellow, Matte Green Metallic, Pearl Black and Matte Grey Metallic. The bold sporty graphics accentuate the dual-tone colours of the Dio.
The Dio Deluxe retains the same BSIV-complaint, 109.19cc air-cooled motor that makes 7.9PS at 7000rpm and 8.91Nm of torque at 5500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a variomatic transmission.
Underneath the skin of the scooter lies an underbone-type chassis with the age-old bottom link suspension at the front and a monoshock unit at the back. Braking is handled by 130mm drum brakes on both wheels, with the assistance of Combined Braking System (CBS). Its 90/100 10-inch wheels come wrapped in MRF tubeless tyres.
The Dio Deluxe competes against rivals like the Yamaha Ray-Z, TVS Wego and the Suzuki Let's. The scooter is expected to hit showrooms in the next couple of days. Honda also offers the Activa 5G in the ‘Deluxe’ version, which was launched at this year's Auto Expo.
