In an effort to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to extend the prevailing lockdown. As per the latest announcement made, the Covid Curfew shall remain effective  till 6 am on May 26. 


In an official notice issued today, the Disaster Management Cell Himachal Pradesh said, "Keeping in view the surge of COVID-19 cases and considering the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic and fatalities across the state....the 'Corona Curfew' shall stand extended from 6 AM of 17th Mat 2021 to 6 AM of 26th May 2021."

As per the latest orders, Hardware shops shall be allowed to open on Tuesdays and Friday for three hours as per schedule fixed by the district Magistrate for shops of daily needs and essential good during the period of curfew. 



The circular further mentioned that for the purpose of marriage, only 20 people shall be allowed to gather. No marriage palace or community hall or tented accommodation shall be utilised. Moreover, no outside catering and DJ/Band shall be utilised. There shall be no procession of the Barat and all the marriaged sgall be performed inside homes while maintaining social distancing. 


The circular also stated that the department of Excise and Taxation shall be included in the list of offices which shall remain open. 


Himachal Pradesh on Friday reported 3,044 fresh cases of Covid-19 while 67 succumbed to the deadly disease. With this, the state has 153717 total confirmed positive cases of which 39623 cases are active, 111878 patients have recovered while 2185 patients have died.
