Hisar: A violent clash brokeout in Hisar earlier today when a group of farmers, who were protesting against the three agricultural laws, allegedly tried to enter the venue where Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was scheduled to inaugurate a 500-bed hospital for Covid-19 patients on Sunday.

According to PTI report, the police claimed that the agitators were marching towards the venue to create obstructions in the chief minister’s event.
In an effort to control the protesters, the police lobbed tear gas shells and used force.

Police said the farmers jumped police barricades, and even pelted stones at the force following which, they had to use force and resort to tear gas shelling to disperse them. During the course of action, some farmers and police personnel were injured and subsequently hospitalised. In order to retaliate police actions, the protesting farmers squatted and blocked some roads in the district.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built 500-bedded Chaudhary Devi Lal Sanjeevani COVID Hospital in Hisar. During the inauguration, Khattar said, "not only the coronavirus patients of Hisar district but the people of nearby districts would be able to get the required treatment at the facility."

soon after inaugurating the hospital, the Chief Minister left the site due to farmers protests and later condemned the incident. "I urge protesters,  your fight against govt can continue once COVID-19 is over. But it's not the right time for this as corona is spreading in villages. We've to stand together in fight against COVID-19," the Chief Minister said.

Meanwhile, Haryana BKU chief Gurnam Singh said over 150 farmers have been detained and demanded their immediately release.
