New Delhi: Lohri is a popular harvest festival, celebrated majorly in the North of India and primarily by Hindus and Sikhs from the Punjab region. Lohri is termed as the festival of farmers in Northern India and is observed a night before Makar Sankranti. The festival is celebrated on January 13 of every year. With high spirits, people collect logs of wood for the sacred bonfire, without which, there wouldn't be any Lohri celebrations and get along with their family and friends on the festive occasion. People worship the bonfire by offering food including peanuts, popcorn, and sweets made of til.
