A major road accident took place in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on Tuesday morning after an auto collided with a bus. As per the early inputs, the incident happened in Purani Chhawani area of Gwalior earlier today when the bus was on its way to Morena.


News agency ANI quoted Additional SP stating that at least 13 people have lost lives. Earlier, it was reported that 10 people died while four were injured in the mishap.

According to the several media reports, deceased included 10 women and the driver of the auto-rickshaw. The bus driver is reported to be on run. The police have swung into action and making efforts to the nab the absconding bus driver. Meanwhile, the injured ones have been rushed to the hospital for treatment. 


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the state Government will give Rs 4 lakh each to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to injured.
