NEW DELHI: Vivo on Wednesday launched in India its new flagship smartphone V15 Pro that comes with an "industry-first" pop-up selfie camera. The device also sports AI triple rear camera, an in-display fingerprint scanner and super AMOLED display.

With an almost bezel-less, 91.64 per cent screen-to-body ratio, the smartphone is available in 6GB+128GB storage variant for pre-order on Vivo India E-store, Amazon.in and Flipkart, starting February 20.

"Besides the industry's first elevating front camera that gave us the ultimate bezel-less display, we are always looking to introduce game-changing features, such as higher quality cameras and smarter AI services," Kent Cheng, CEO, Vivo India, told reporters here.

The smartphone comes with a 32MP pop-up selfie camera and AI-enabled 48 million Quad Pixel Sensor, 8MP+5MP triple camera setup at the back.

The device is powered with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 675AIE octa-core processor which consumes less power while delivering flagship level performance.

The V15 Pro sports a 6.39-inch Ultra FullView display, along with the company's fifth-generation in-display fingerprint scanning technology.

It runs the latest Funtouch OS 9 Operating System (OS), based on Android 9.0. The device would be available in Topaz Blue and Ruby Red colours, starting March 6 at Rs 28,990.

According to research firm Counterpoint, Vivo had a 10 per cent market share in 2018, behind Xiaomi (28 per cent) and Samsung (24 per cent).

In December, the company had said it will set up a new manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh, investing Rs 4,000 crore over a period of four years. Vivo expects to generate 5,000 additional jobs in the first phase of expansion. PTI SR
