MUMBAI: Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo on Tuesday launched its new smartphone V5 in India at Rs 17,980. It packs a massive 20MP front camera for selfie lovers and comes with "Moonlight Glow" feature that allows users to take selfies in diverse lighting conditions.
"V5 comes with the first-ever 20 MP front camera that creates flawless pictures in naturally vivid colours. We are sure that our new offering is all set to create a new benchmark and will be widely accepted by customers and redefine the selfie experience,” Kent Cheng, CEO, Vivo India, said.
Vivo V5 features a 13.97cm (5.5) HD display with the resolution of 1280×720pixels and 2.5D corning gorilla glass and a 300 mAh battery.
The company will soon unveil Vivo V5 Plus with dual front camera, Vivek Zhang, CMO, Vivo India, said.
The “Moonlight Glow” feature induces a naturalglow on the face that lights up the picture irrespective of the lighting conditions.
The smartphone is powered by octa-core 64-bit processor paired up with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory, which is expandable upto 128GB. It runs on Funtouch OS 2.6 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The device packs water-resistant faster fingerprint sensor on the front that unlocks the screen in just 0.2 seconds.
The smartphone is equipped with an ‘Eye Protection Mode’ feature that filters out blue light to protect vision and prevents eye strain. It supports ‘Smart Screen-Split’ feature allows users to multitask without having to switch back and forth every time a message pops up.
The phone will be available from November 26th onwards at retail stores.
