Design: Inspired by the Apple Airpods, the PlayGo T44 features the half in-ear design which suits most people with varied ear canal sizes. They fit in your ear nicely and at 3.5 grams each, they're also comfortable for outdoor activities such as running, jogging, and sports. You get touch controls on both the earbuds, measuring 16.56×41.77×17.49mm each. Hold them in hand and you'll appreciate the build quality and premium feel. The PlayGo T44 comes in a small case, made up of plastic, that fits in your pocket easily. While the case gets an LED notification light for charging and pairing mode, there's no LED on the earphones.
Connectivity and Functioning: The pairing process is convenient as you can connect the PlayGo T44 with the device easily. You need to put the earbuds in the charging case. Keep the box open and your device will automatically detect the earbuds. Also, if you want you can use one earbud at a time.
With a double-tap, you can play/pause the music and also answer calls. To jump to the next track you need to long-touch the right one and for the previous song, do the same to the left bud. To end calls, you need to long touch the left earpiece and to activate voice assistant, triple-tap the same bud. Functionality is smooth, I must say. However, the PlayGo T44 does not support volume controls, which is a setback. It has Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and works well up to 10m distance.
Sound: The one thing where you don't wanna go wrong while selecting TWS earphones is their sound. In fact, for most of us, the audio quality matters the most and everything else is secondary. So, the PlayGo T44 is not bass-heavy but offers impressive sound quality with clear highs, balanced mids. Voice quality was also very good during the calls I made with the earphones.
The basic IPX4 rating comes in handy during workout and drizzle, and the battery also does the job lasting at least 3.5 hours on a single charge. Also, you can charge the earphones 3-4 times with the charging case when you're travelling.
Verdict: At Rs. 2,999, the PlayGo T44 is a decent buy. It looks good, fits well, has a sufficient battery life and delivers on most counts. The sound quality, considering its price, is also impressive.
