NEW DELHI: OnePlus has on Friday announced that it has started rolling out Android 9.0 Pie to its latest flagship device the OnePlus 6. First available on September 3 through the Open Beta Program, Android Pie for the OnePlus 6 has been tested by our community and optimized for them, the OnePlus said in a statement.

With Android Pie platform update, the OnePlus 6 features the brand-new Android Pie UI, Android P gesture navigation, expanded accent color customizations and more.

Android 9 Pie includes Adaptive Battery technology, which learns how you use your phone, so apps and services you rarely use aren’t a battery drain and you can focus on the apps you care about.

OnePlus said it's looking forward to bringing Android P to the OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus3T thereby ensuring OnePlus users all over the world can continue to enjoy new features.

The OTA will be received by a limited number of users on Friday and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs, OnePlus forum post said. Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout Is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices, it added.
