WABeta Info, the WhatsApp Beta version tracker, has revealed several new features that will be seen on the messenger platform soon. Here are the most notable updates coming up:

Vacation Mode

According to WABeta Info, WhatsApp was developing the Vacation Mode earlier for Android and iOS but later abandoned the update. However, the messenger is once again working on the  Vacation mode which ensures that users do not receive fresh notifications from archived chat.

For the uninitiated, archive chat allows users to hide another user or group from their chat list. However, they continue to receive notifications for new messages. Archive chat does not delete these messages or back them up in cloud data.

Auto-Hide Inactive Chats

This is reported to be an extension of the vacation mode. If enabled, chats older than 6 months will be automatically archived/hidden. WhatsApp is yet to reveal more details about this feature.

New Wallpapers In Chats

Users will be able to have a new variety of wallpapers/chat backgrounds to choose from and they will be able to select different ones for different chats. The feature is currently being developed for both Android and iOS versions of the platform.

New Improved UI For Calls

WhatsApp is planning to bring an improved layout for calls made on the platform by moving all elements in the call screen to the bottom. According to the WABetaInfo report, it will be rolled out soon.

Separate Notification Ringtone For Group chats

WhatsApp will also allow users to set separate notification ringtone for group chats whenever they receive a new message on them. It will ring on the loop when a new message appears.
