New Delhi: Reliance Jio has launched its own browser, JioPages. Reliance Jio claims that the Made in India browser has privacy at its core. The company says that the browser has been completely conceptualized and designed in India. The made in India browser which is built on Chromium Blink engine has come at the time when India’s need for a digital presence is widely talked about and have gained momentum.
“There could not have been a more opportune time to launch a made-in-India browser that focuses on data-privacy and gives users full control of their information,” company said in a press release.

Here are some key features of the browser:
• The browser supports eight regional languages - Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.
• The browser has a PIN locked incognito mode and claims it has encrypted connections.
• Content curation ensures that the content feed is customised to suit the user’s preference in terms of language, topic, and region.
• Users can personalize the home page, set the lead search engines as default and personalize the theme.
• JioPages comes with Dark mode for a better viewing and browsing experience.
• Downloads are categorized, the browser will automatically categorise downloads according to the file type, i.e. Image, Video, Document, or Pages to make file management easier for the user.
• The browser blocks unsolicited ads and popups to provide the user with a seamless browsing experience.
Currently, JioPages is only available for download on the Google Play Store there seems to be no iOS version so far. One can either visit the Play Store or visit the website - jio.com.
