Ahead of the upcoming G20 Summit, the White House has said that US President Joe Biden will “reaffirm US commitment to the G20” as the premier forum of economic cooperation globally. While addressing a press briefing, White House press secretary, Karine Jean Pierre said President Biden will also discuss a range of topics such as the clean energy transition and combating climate change to mitigate the economic and social impacts of Russia’s war in Ukraine, reported ANI. The G20 Summit in Delhi is scheduled to be held on September 9 and 10 this year. 


When asked what the President’s top goals were for the G20 Summit, the White House press secretary told the media “President Biden will reaffirm the US commitment to the G20 as the premier forum of economic cooperation globally.”






She also said that Biden will discuss a range of joint efforts to tackle global issues "from the clean energy transition and combating climate change to mitigating the economic and social impacts of Russia’s war in Ukraine, to increasing the capacity of the multilateral development banks to better fight poverty and take on the significant transnational challenges that are afflicting countries across the world".

US President Joe Biden will travel to India on a four-day visit, from September 7-10, to attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit in September in New Delhi. 


Notably, India assumed the G20 presidency for one year from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023, during which it hosted several meetings across the country. The theme of the international summit is "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or “One Earth · One Family · One Future." which is derived from a famous ancient Sanskrit text, Maha Upanishad.
