New Delhi: Just when Skoda shared some official teaser images and a video for the Kodiaq, this VisionS concept from the Czech automaker has already been spotted in the production form sprinting on an open stretch without much camouflage. Skoda has smarty disguised some bits of its exterior such as the headlights and the taillights; a black cladding can be seen covering the boundaries of this SUV. That said, the spy shots are good enough to keep us engaged.

From what we could observe from these real-world shots, the extended wheel arches and a stretched-flat bonnet makes for a butch look. The roof-rails and the slightly sloping roof-line that ends at the D-pillar with an integrated spoiler gives it a noteworthy presence on the road. Its squarish LED wraparound split tail lights are quite chic to look at. Another interesting bit is the lowered loading-lip at the tail that can be of great convenience, ticking the practicality quotient for this huge SUV.

Its official debut will take place during the Paris Motor Show (held from September 1). This will be Skoda’s first outing with a full-fledged seven-seater SUV. On the inside, the Kodiaq will be loaded with tech features to the brim with all modern-day razzmatazz that can be seen on luxury SUVs. On the mechanical front, Skoda is likely to introduce a 2.0-litre petrol and a diesel motor as well. Its Indian debut is slotted for 2017 as per Skoda India’s 2017 game plan. The Kodiaq will compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the Ford Endeavour and the Chevy Trailblazer in India.
